Teams and the phone
The same Higher Level of Communication in Teams chat, channels, meetings and on the phone.
Teams
- Chat for a quick question to one person; a channel for anything the team should see; a meeting when it needs more than three messages.
- The 5 to 15 minute reply rule applies to Teams too; set your status (available, in a meeting, away) so people know.
- In webinars and meetings: camera on when you present, microphone off when you are not speaking, questions in Q&A.
- Company information stays in company tools — Teams, Outlook and Dynamics — never personal apps.
The phone
- Answer within three rings with the company name and your name.
- Take the caller's name, company and number before transferring; tell the person you are transferring to who is calling.
- Personal calls and cell phones are for breaks and lunch, except in an emergency; long distance is company business only.
